The 2020s are where it counts, environmentally. This is the decade that decides if we thrive or if we slide deeper into the chaos. More fires, floods and droughts, hotter heat waves, rising seas, melting ice and warming oceans.
Unless we choose to change.
We need to reduce global emissions at least 45% by 2030 to prevent catastrophic temperature rises. That amounts to around a 7% reduction per year. And put like that, doesn’t it just sound so manageable? And it is. So let’s do it.
You can choose to tackle all areas of your life at once and reduce your total emissions by 7% every year. Or you can target a specific area each year and reduce it by the full 45%. It doesn’t matter how you do it, it only matters that you do do it.
Areas to look at include:
- Power
- Waste
- Food
- Transport & Travel
- Consumption
Over the next few weeks, we will be looking at various different areas of our lives and providing a few reduction ideas to get you started.
